HAPPY NEW YEAR! 2016 HERE WE GO!
The new year always brings good intentions…to get fit, loose some weight, do a detox diet, try the latest fitness craze….none of these are bad things to work towards or even try but inevitably we are unable to achieve, to maintain…to muster. We give up. Overwhelmed and down on ourselves for “failing”.
This is a cycle we seem to repeat year after year. Believe me, I have been down this path myself until one day I just stopped. Yup. I stopped making enormous “To Do” lists at the beginning of the year or making grand exclamations that I would obtain the perfect weight by spring or “eat clean” for 30 days. Don’t get me wrong, having goals and making plans is a wonderful thing to do but I think we should just plan on one day at a time. Instead of setting yourself up to climb a huge mountain, make a day-to-day goal. Plan a work out today. Try a Pilates class today. Fuel your body healthily today. Do it again tomorrow. By setting a smaller, achievable goal we are more likely to succeed building confidence as we go and adopting some very good habits along the way.
Here's to a healthy New You!
